In the past Google has ignored India as a premier market for
its nexus lineup of smartphones and tablets. Google nexus devices are those
devices which run stock android versions without any UI customisation by the manufacturer
in collaboration with its OEM partners. ASUS, LG, SAMSUNG have launched google nexus
devices in the past. But these devices are never released in india although we
can get it Unofficially but that would be without any warranty. Hardcore Android
fan boy’s would love to get their hands on a nexus device as it’s the best
thing you can get to experience vanilla android. As in most cases manufacturers
add customised UI over the stock version. for example Samsung’s Touch Wiz or
HTC sense. Which in most of the cases
slows down the device and brings down the user experience and is not liked by
many. Nexus devices are the first ones
to get any updates released by Google without having to wait for the
manufacturer to roll out updates. ASUS has just revealed that they might bring
Nexus 7 to India in the 2nd quarter of 2013 i.e. sometime in June. The
device might be priced below Rs 20000. With Nexus devices Google is hoping to
increase its market share over apple. I
don’t know why Google has ignored India for its nexus devices. Hope to hear
some good news from Google soon.
