Samsung and Reliance To Make Cheap LTE Phone.

Samsung electronics & India's Reliance Telecommunication are gearing to launch a cheap LTE phone which might be priced at Rs 5,500. Reliance which is yet to roll out its LTE Network is reportedly planning a joint venture with Samsung for a Cheap LTE smartphone. Earlier in the 2000's when Reliance had started its CDMA services, it had got other manufacturers to make cheap phones for it but this time Samsung doesn't want to be just an manufacturer. Samsung is hoping for a joint venture between the two companies.

There are not many LTE devices in the Indian market. Only few of them are available that too are high end devices which are not in everyone's reach. By this joint venture Samsung & Reliance will try to tap the LTE market in India which has huge potential if priced economically. Currently in India only Airtel has rolled out its 4G LTE services that too in few metros. It will take sometine for Reliance to roll out its services, But it is expected to arrive in the middle of the year. 3G has seen very nominal growth in india due to its high charges & now with LTE coming 3G services could see a considerable drop in charges. Few years back Aircel came up with its revolutionary pocket Internet packs with unlimited internet due to which there was huge growth in Internet usage on mobile devices, Soon other operators  followed with their packs. Hoping to see something similar with 3G & 4G LTE services.
